Matt is a Grammy® Award-winning recording artist, filmmaker and teaching artist in public schools across America.
Matt’s San Francisco story began in 1998 when he joined the classical acapella ensemble Chanticleer. After five seasons with the ensemble, Matt began a solo career as a singer/songwriter. His original songs and reinterpretations of pop classics appear regularly television series’ like Bones (ABC), The Fosters (ABC Family) & 911 Lonestar (FOX.) Matt has also been presented by Lincoln Center in New York on the esteemed American Songbook Series and on stages around the globe.
Matt also works as a teaching artist both here and abroad. He has traveled as an Artist Diplomat of the US State Department to Sudan, Russia, Kosovo, Estonia & Finland. Matt is also a lead facilitator with Youth Equity Stewardship, a national public school program that uses the arts to foster healthier school communities. (www.corwin.com/yes.)
As a filmmaker, Matt focuses on the stories of LGBTQ+ youth & elders. His current docu-series, Queer As Fundamental (Queer AF*) features the life stories of six rising Queer American artists and why being Queer is fundamental to their life experience. To learn more, visit: www.queeraf.rev
